I found the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) very enlightening. Even after being involved in the IT industry for over a decade, and having had my Security+ certification for nearly as long, it has only been the last few years that I had decided to focus on Cybersecurity as a specialty.
C|EH made sure to cover the latest trending security concerns such as IoT hacking and cloud security. This EC-Council course expanded my understanding on topics such as session hijacking, various hacking methodologies, and how to defend against Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs).
My 10-day boot camp was combined and complemented with the real-time environment of the Aspen labs. Having the instructor explain the aspect of various tools for different hacking techniques was definitely the best part.
The C|EH is considered a baseline certification for those who function in a Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) role within the Department of Defense (DoDM 8570.01). For anyone looking to get involved in incident response, network and log analysis, or in monitoring and administrating network security, C|EH is a great course to gain a better understanding of more advanced concepts of cybersecurity.
