Network security has become a mandate when it comes to digital security in various industry sectors. The same applies to the law firms and legal sector, which tends to hold more sensitive information than any other private sector. This colossal amount of sensitive information is frequently targeted by threat actors for malicious purposes. Though compromise of information security is fairly common in the cybersecurity landscape, its impact will differ with respect to compromised information sensitivity. The current manuscript discusses how law firms are expected to scale up their security and the impact of any security incident upon the firm and its client. This manuscript also discusses different network security technologies while briefly touching upon the attacks, vulnerabilities, risks, and impact of law firms’ cybersecurity breaches.
