I became interested in pursuing cybersecurity as a career following my graduate studies in Homeland Security. It was during that time that I recognized the importance of internet security and the impact that it could have on society.I initially became interested in the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) because I wanted to improve my skill sets and foundational understanding of ethical hacking. I also figured that it would be an excellent way to show potential employers that I have the right aptitude for this domain. The combination of relevant theoretical knowledge and real-time labs gave me a great foundation to kickstart my career. This program helped me to learn how programs are written, and networks are designed, giving me the knowledge to identify security loopholes and vulnerabilities. The EC-Council training content gave me the vital knowledge of the domain, which helped me to attain the C|EH credential. This program also taught me the importance of different tools stressing on a thorough explanation.
My advice for people interested in cybersecurity is to study hard and keep an open mind. Technologies continue to evolve, and so does the threat landscape. Evolving is the only way to survive.
