I was always passionate about cybersecurity, but I didn’t know where to start. Initially, I gave a thought to EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) as it seemed highly technical. Later, I decided to gain some background knowledge before I opt for C|EH. But to my surprise, the program had a lot to offer! From foundational to core knowledge, C|EH comprehensively covered multiple aspects of information and network security. The provision of online videos with downloadable documents (PDF) was the perfect blend! It gave me the liberty of switching between written and video content and skipping the parts that I already knew. C|EH’s practical sessions helped me to get along with numerous tools. It would not be fair to choose just one tool out of what I gained from this training as I rely upon a lot of useful tools for performing my daily tasks.
Cybersecurity beginners should first start with learning the basics of TCP/IP, then learn how to implement client/server of FTP, SSH, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, MySQL, NFS, Samba in a Windows and Linux system. Then learn a little bit about Active Directory in Windows Server, learn about the permissions in Linux. After that, you can start to learn cybersecurity with C|EH.
