Early in the year, I took up the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH). It was really great to learn complex ethical hacking concepts, methodologies, tools, and techniques through online training and real-time labs. It was exciting and gave me a practical application of all my learnings. I was captivated by the broad coverage of virtual labs. After attaining this credential, I’m continually learning new things and would shortly be taking up the Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (C|HFI).
I’d suggest all InfoSec beginners and professionals take up EC-Council programs because they have a broader practical application, brand-neutral, respected outside of the IT community. The program is ANSI accredited, and DoD has recognized it as a baseline program. Plus, over the years, the C|EH program has definitely earned its credibility and gained its popularity, without a doubt.
