What Makes Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) An Appealing Certification?

I have been a technology professional for almost 20 years, and throughout all these years, I gained experience in the multiple verticals of the industry. I began my career as an ‘Information Technology Manager’ and learned various skills to work my way through to become ‘Cybersecurity Risk Manager.’ I firmly believe upgrading your skills help you to grow as a person as well as progress in your career. Moreover, that was my primary reason to take up the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH).

Based on my recent achievement – attained the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) credential, I can summarize my entire experience with EC-Council in five major points –

1. About the Received Courseware and Training Material

The material offered me comprehensive insights into the domain, which helped me pass the C|EH exam. I felt that the content was closely aligned with the exam. Moreover, still, it is very well organized for professionals to follow the framework when performing a penetration test. The content is professionally laid out, and the tools listed at the end of each module are very handy for real-world application.

2. Brilliant Instructors

It was the experience of the instructor, which made the training very interesting. Also, his knowledge and the way he introduced the real-life aspects of various topics were just spectacular. Having experienced instructors with relevant and recent hands-on experience teaching the class goes a long way if the attendees are beginners or want to enhance their cybersecurity career. In such a case, the knowledge of the instructor helps them to understand what to expect and how to react according to situations.

3. Impressive iLabs with Real-Time Environment

“Knowledge is a treasure, but practice is the key to it.”

Another fantastic element of C|EH was the iLabs. It provided a convenient hands-on environment to practice all the learned concepts and strategies. I enjoyed the iLabs as I saw them as a tool to get some exposure to technologies.

4. Foundational Knowledge and Skills

I got through the exam on my first attempt. I think the course gave me the foundation to better understand how to perform an ethical hack as well as how “bad guys” think and operate. It is one of the best training programs that help you learn the basics of ethical hacking, then further your knowledge with advanced concepts.

5. Credibility Among the Leaders of the Industry

C|EH is recognized as the baseline program by the United States Department of Defense (DoD). Apart from that, it is ANSI accredited and keeps the content updated as per the industry demands. Moreover, that is why it’s professional credibility among the employers and professionals of cybersecurity is undeniable.

After attaining the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) credential, I deduced that the program prepares its attendees not only for acing the exam, but also to face real-world cybersecurity challenges with ease.

The program gave me an in-depth knowledge of ethical hacking – its various technologies, processes, and rules. Now I know, having a good understanding of ethical hacking will help me partner with external firms or vendors to perform penetration testing. Moreover, I will be able to do it for the company without feeling lost or intimidated.
