Cybersecurity has been a passion since my childhood. I have discovered it as a script kiddie, playing around with tools. I wanted to learn more to understand what happens in the background, so I started learning on my own. Some of my friends recommended me to begin with EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), so I went for it. As soon as I started to get in contact with more and more cybersecurity knowledge, it was clear to me that this would become my next career step. I chose cybersecurity because it is one of its kind. You never get bored, as it always challenges you. You’ll learn new things daily. EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) was my employer’s highly required credentialing program. It has been years since I attained C|EH, yet, I believe that C|EH and EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) are the best way to learn information security, especially penetration testing. I work as a penetration tester, and my main projects are web and mobile related. Therefore, they are the most used concepts. Social engineering and system hacking are other important practices that I learned through this training.
In my opinion, every cybersecurity beginner should start with C|EH. You will have the chance to cover and deepen information security-based knowledge. It is the foundational knowledge for an Ethical Hacker or an Information Security Analyst. Then go further with ECSA and the practical training programs (C|EH Practical, ECSA Practical, and Licensed Penetration Tester (L|PT) Master). With these programs, you will have the chance to go the extra mile and become an expert in the domain.
