David Kane, Garrison Information Security Officer for the US Army, Talks About Attaining the C|EH Credential

Read what David Kane had to say on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/ec-councils-certified-ethical-hacker-exam-passed-david-kane/

I have just attained the Certified Ethical Hacker credential from EC-Council and I just wanted to put it out there and let everyone know the type of experience that I gained by doing so.

I went through a self-paced training course online through work offered through the US Department of Homeland Security – Federal Virtual Training Environment. I thought it was very comprehensive and well planned out. It covered all of the topics in the C|EH exam and provided lab examples by the instructors.

I enjoyed the lab examples the most. It is one thing to read about how the different hacking techniques work, but it is good to see a professional use them in the lab situation.

I recommend EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker exam for anyone that does network security. It is important to not only know how to protect your valuable information, but to be able see the other side of the picture, cyber security. This certification is an invaluable tool to hire an ethical hacker to run penetration tests on your systems, potentially saving an unlimited amount of money and being able to sleep at night knowing your systems are secure.
