The Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud services have paved the way fora digital transformation in the healthcare industry. However, the advancement of technology has led to a sharp rise in the number of cybersecurity threats. Present-day healthcare has become a victim of internal and external cybersecurity attacks. Healthcare data breaches don’t just affect organizations but patients, clients, stakeholders, and other businesses too. Over 249 million individuals were affected by healthcare data breaches between 2005 to 2019. This paper aims to explore the relationship between cybersecurity threats and the healthcare industry. Examining healthcare data breaches, identifying insights, carrying out deep investigations, and analyzing patterns of these cybersecurity attacks will help organizations in improving their healthcare information security systems.
